Yes, I'm alive. The last months of winter are hard, aren't they? Everyone suddenly realizes that certain deadlines (wether it's college applications or meeting your goal of going skiing once) are coming up fast. And somehow amidst that, you're fighting that feeling of "My schedule has been the same all winter; I really need a change." Welcome to March. ;)

Actually, things have been really good lately. Aaron's visit helped February pass better than normal; I got to visit with Ethan for a day at the beginning of this month and I'll see him again on Saturday at BLC; youth group has been good; I love band; college stuff pops up when my schedule gets too monotonous; and now our snow is melting! It was twenty-fiv--oops, I'm speaking Celsius-- 75 degrees yesterday! In the mornings, it's foggy because of the snow still remaining. I love it. :D On Sunday the youth group was picking up garbage in the park, and I was outside without a coat for the first time all winter, in the fog, and it was great. I really like having that park nearby.

Another interesting thing is that I've given blood twice in the past few months. I'd never done that before. The first time was kind of funny because the people were treating me extra-special since it was my first time. I got lots of attention. ;) Normally I don't really enjoy little conversations with strangers, but I was feeling more extroverted that day than usual. Mom, dad, and and I went again yesterday (they held another in our area as soon as everyone from the first one was allowed to give blood again; eight weeks). This time I got a bit of bruising from the needle, but it's not too bad. And of course I asked questions, being naturally curious about the procedures of these people who want to stick needles in my arm. After the first time I got stuff in the mail too, and so now I know what blood type I am. I was curious about that too, so it's fun to know.

College things are... progressing... if slowly. Financial aid stuff is now in process, so I feel a bit better about that than I was. I've been accepted to CUW, Bethany, Beloit, St. Olaf, and Lake Forest. I've been turned down by Carleton (which was fine), and still have to hear from Hillsdale again. I like different things about each college, so I'm having a tough time trying to narrow it down right now, but I made a comparison chart that's helping. I wasn't terribly excited about St. Olaf at first, but it's looking better lately. It has a lot of good things about it. Most of the final decision will be made by financial aid though.
