New pets! Aren't they cute? We stopped in Duluth on the way down from Thunder Bay to buy them. We'd been planning to get more rats ever since moving, because at that time we had to leave the degus in Canada. They're all young rats. It would have been a lot of fun to have baby rats, but they don't sell them that young, and only had male rats at the store. We wanted females because they fight a bit less, but decided males were good enough. They don't fight all *that* much. In the picture on the left are Dimitri and Dorian.
Dimitri is a bit smaller than the other two; he was probably the runt of the litter. On the right is Despereaux (say: DES-per-O)(Yes, it's French). We named him after a mouse in a book. Despereaux is the most courageous of the three, though they're all friendlier than our degus ever were. Dorian and Dimitri like hiding under the flap of cardboard on the left side of the left picture. I love the names we picked out for them. ^_^

Desper... I can't remember how to spell it, but you know what I mean. I read that book a while ago and I really liked it. Good names.
From "Karissa Moeberg"
Dee-sper-eh-aux, Dorian, Vladmir, Vlad, Dracula, and The Count. All very cool names. I think I've picked a favourite already.
We're all waiting expectantly for your post on 2006. ;-)
